About Us

Calling Our Spirits Home is an Indigenous woman-owned organization in Lac La Biche, Alberta.

We provide accessible, culturally safe recovery services for Indigenous communities across Canada—communities disproportionately impacted by addiction rooted in historical trauma, systemic inequality, and limited access to culturally grounded care.

Our Story: The Why

Mainstream treatment programs often fail to integrate Indigenous culture and spirituality, leading to low engagement and high relapse rates.

Calling Our Spirits Home was created to change that by putting spirit and culture at the forefront of recovery.

We provide hybrid addiction recovery and wellness services for all ages that are spiritually grounded and trauma-informed.

Our approach integrates:

  • Ceremony

  • Elder guidance

  • Cultural aftercare

  • Evidence-based therapies using our Four Directions Healing Framework
